The Charm of Backyard Weddings: A Perspective from an Ottawa Valley Photographer

As a Pembroke, ON based lifestyle photographer, I have had the delightful privilege of capturing many memorable moments for numerous couples and families throughout the Ottawa Valley. Over the past few years, I've noticed a trend that has quickly become a favourite of mine: backyard weddings! There's something incredibly special about these intimate celebrations of love that take place in the comfort of one's own home.

As the sun dips low in the sky and bathes everything in a beautiful golden light - my absolute favourite time to shoot - the familiar environment takes on a magical quality. I'm not one to show up with a full studio worth of lights and reflectors; I prefer to blend into the background, capturing candid moments as they happen.
